Difference between a Hair Transplant and Hair Plugs

April 12, 2016 § Leave a comment

Nobody likes to look in the mirror and see thinning hair or receding hairlines. While men more regularly experience balding than ladies, it affects both sexual orientations. Hair restoration procedures serve to improve the presence of a thicker head of hair for both men and ladies. Since male pattern baldness is for the most part brought on by debilitated hair follicles, hair restoration procedures, for example, hair transplants and hair attachments are usually used.

What is a hair plug?

Hair plug procedures have been used for decades to treat baldness. They’re considered one of the safest, but it’s very important to choose a surgeon who is experienced in the field for a more natural and satisfactory appearance following the procedure.

The technique involves literally removing a portion of the scalp from the back part of the head. Then, the surgeon removes individual hair follicles from that piece of scalp. The hair follicles are then cleaned. Then, the surgeon inserts those hair bulbs or follicles, one at a time, into surrounding areas of thinning hair or along a receding hairline. When enough of these are inserted, the hair then grows naturally, offering a thicker, healthier head of hair.

Hair transplants

A hair transplant procedure is more involved than the procedure using hair plugs. The hair transplant procedure involves relocation a hair-bearing piece of skin to another area of the scalp. This requires multiple procedures in some cases. In a hair transplant, a strip of scalp typically taken from the back of the head and used to fill in a thinning or bald area on another location on the scalp.

For the procedure, a 3 to 4-inch area of scalp will be removed. The area from where the scalp was taken is then sutured together. The surgeon divides the section of removed hair and scalp into anywhere between hundreds or thousands of grafts, each containing a few hairs. The overall number of grafts required will depend on the size of the area where the hair is to be transplanted. Each graft is individually placed into a small slit or hole that the surgeon creates with a needle or a scalpel, and then sutured into place.

Actor Kivanc Tatlitug Sets Trend in Hair Transplant

September 24, 2013 § 1 Comment

As Turkish TV series get aired abroad, Turkish stars gain more recognition in many countries, and particularly in the Middle East. The flurry of TV series has also driven citizens of such countries to flock to Turkey, spurring dynamism and vitality in the health tourism sector.

These tourists surely stimulate the tourism sector in Turkey, but they also begin to devote their attention to the Turkish healthcare sector, which has come to prominence at the global scale. Cherished by thousands of fans both in Turkey and in the Middle East with his myriad TV series and films, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ is a source of inspiration for Arabic males to undergo hair transplant operation.

Hair Transplantation Procedure

Many Arabs visiting Turkey from the Middle East for hair transplant carry a photo of Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ as a model, says Chairman of the Executive Board of Estetik International, Op. Dr. Bülent Cihantimur: “We a meet a plethora of requests from men who would like to look like Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and covet his hair style.” Cihantimur underlines that the most indispensable element in hair transplant is generating a solution tailored for the needs of the individual patient.

Cost of procedure is  very reasonable in comparison to Europe

Stressing that hair transplant procedures in Turkey are more reasonably priced compared to Europe, Op. Dr. Bülent Cihantimur said, “The procedure costs around 3000-5000 TL in Turkey whereas a procedure based on similar techniques costs approximately 15.000 Euros in Europe. The most preferred and recommended method of all is the FUE hair transplant method. The cost of such procedure can best be quoted upon analysis of the patient’s hair”.

Op. Dr. Bülent Cihantimur from Estetik International highlighted that they provided 1 week of accommodation services for the patients who visit Turkey for hair transplant operations, both before and after the operation:  “Besides, patients who opt for our mega-sessions may attain satisfactory outcomes after only one session whereas the same procedure takes 3-4 sessions in Europe. In other words, it’s a splurge. That’s why we have begun to receive high numbers of patients from Europe, and particularly from Egypt, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Germany, as well as from the UK, France and Russia”.

Innovative Hair Transplantation procedures are popular

Arabic patients from the Middle East and other countries may model after Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s hair style, but they also want to see innovative methods of hair transplantation, underscored Op. Dr. Bülent Cihantimur:  “The ultimate goal of hair transplant should be attaining a natural outcome.

Especially with “Needle Hair Transplant Technique” and “Intense Density”, we make a difference in hair transplant operations. Hair transplant is no standard procedure. It is not possible to apply the same principles of hair transplant to the entire patient population.

We cater to our patients’ expectations by bringing forth the most natural outcomes through our special hair transplant technique, which is fast, meticulous, pain-free, and which enables fast recovery back to normal life. Hair transplant requires experience, aesthetic perspective, and the use of the correct technique. Every single follicle is precious, and the goal should be the best outcome using as few follicles as possible with no damage incurred.”

Op.Dr. Bulent Cihantimur, “It is hair transplant, not hair plant”

September 20, 2013 § Leave a comment

Op.Dr. Bülent Cihantimur said; “Unfortunately, the term ‘hair transplant’, which means ‘hair transfer’ in English, is mistranslated into Turkish as ‘hair plant’ ”.

Chairman of the Executive Board at Estetik International Healthcare Group, Op. Dr. Bülent Cihantimur shared information about the procedure known across the globe as “hair transplant”, which implies “hair transfer”, but is called “hair plant” among people in Turkey.

Dr. Cihantimur asserted that the term hair transplant suffers mistranslation into our language, since it is translated as “hair plant” instead of hair transfer.  Emphasizing that the wrong translation is starting to take root in the language, he shared their concern about the issue: “In order to avoid that pitfall and assume a sensitive approach towards our profession, our doctors and experts at Estetik International term the procedure as “hair transfer” instead of “hair plant”.”

“In today’s world, hair transplant is a well-renowned remedy to baldness and weak hair. Hair follicles are removed from the nape or other areas of the body where the follicles are strong, and transferred to the problem area. At Estetik International Healthcare Group, we perform the innovative FUE method in hair transplant procedures. This method secures a more rapid recovery of scars as well as faster hair growth, while it incurs no complications such as loss of sensation, constriction during scar recovery, or thinning. The method can also be applied to the beard and moustache area with weak hair or no hair at all”, Cihantimur added.
